LIHEAP is the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
It helps families pay to heat their homes for the winter.
If your family gets SSI, TANF, or SNAP, you will qualify for this program.
How can I apply for LIHEAP?
- You must apply in person at your local fuel assistance agency. Click on the "Download" button below to download a provider list. Then find the agency that serves your parish or zip code.

Call them to see if you need an appointment. Ask them what to bring, and any other questions you have.

If they say you do not qualify, you have a right to appeal the decision. Ask the agency how to do this.
