What counts as a disability?
Of course, this is a very broad term. While it often brings to mind people in wheelchairs or those who are blind or deaf, there are many other types of disabilities.
A person is considered to have a disability if they have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of their major life activities.
Keep in mind:
-
Many disabilities are not physical, and many are invisible.
-
Some of your current employees are probably living with a hidden disability. If your company can better support these employees, it can help them to be even more productive, and create a positive work environment for all employees.
