The Healthcare Marketplace

If you want to get private health insurance without going through your employer, you can use the federal government's Healthcare Exchange or Marketplace.

(Click on the links and the websites will open in a new tab on your screen)

To apply for coverage through Health Exchanges:

  1. Keep an eye out for important dates and deadlines. (Note: even if you have missed the deadline, there are still chances to enroll in specific programs. Click the tips button below for details.)

  2. Explore the many different health plan options.

  3. When you've found a plan that meets your needs, start the application process by selecting your state from the menu on the site.

Click the link at the bottom of the pack to download a brochure. (It will open in a new tab or in the bottom of your screen.)
