Who to call with questions

The health insurance system is complicated and confusing! If you still have questions, don't give up — just get more help.

There are so many organizations in Louisiana that are doing excellent work to support people with disabilities!

You can search for all different kinds of organizations in our Resource Directory. (See below.)

But here are a couple that can answer a lot of the questions you may have. Tell them what kind of help you need, and they'll tell you who else you can call.

For help with insurance and Medicaid questions, call Navigators for a Healthy Louisiana:

For general help about disability issues, call Families Helping Families:

There are 10 Families Helping Families (FHF) programs around the state

Call you nearest office and ask if they are the one serving your parish.

Go to our Resource Directory and look up service providers and local organizations to help you!

Find it in Tools at the top of your screen or at the bottom of the webpage. Put in your zip code, choose the service you are looking for, and find the ones near you. 

Here are some of the services you can find:

  • Therapists

  • Medical services

  • Education and transition support

  • Employment support and vocational programs

  • Adult programs and services

  • Respite care and support groups

  • Recreational activities

 

If you have Medicaid, check the box that says "Show only providers who accept Medicaid (Healthy Louisiana)".
