You will get a letter in the mail that says whether or not your family member qualifies.

It will also say which Medicaid Waiver your family member qualifies for.

If they qualify, your family member will now be on the Request for Services Registry. This is a wait list. You might have to wait for several years to get a Waiver! We have another Guide to help you know what to do while you're waiting.

An image of an envelope representing a letter from your local HSD officer. If it is a statement of approval or SOA, then you will be put on the waitlist for services. If it is a Statement of Denial or SOD, then you can appeal or try again.

Next, we'll tell you what to do if they say you don't qualify.
