Autism - Emotional Readiness

An autism diagnosis can be emotional, and you have to be ready to manage that. With the right mindset, you can find the best way forward.

It's hard to have a label of autism placed on your child.

But the good thing about getting a diagnosis is that it opens the door to getting services and treatment that can help your child. It also helps you to connect with a community of other parents.

You know that your child is more than the diagnosis!

Your child is a unique, beautiful person and has much to offer. So if the label bothers you, we understand. But we encourage you to try to accept it as a necessary way to get services and treatments that can make your child's life better. (And yours, too!)

We'll tell you about the treatments and therapies next.
