One of the first things you can do is call local programs and talk to people who understand!
You can also connect with other parents in face-to-face support groups, or in online groups like Facebook.
There are so many organizations in Massachusetts that are doing excellent work to support people with disabilities!
The first place to call is Family TIES of Massachusetts.
Contact Family TIES:
- Homepage: Family TIES of Mass (It will open in a new tab or window.)
- Find your local office here.
There are many other places. Here's how you can find them:
Look up parent support organizations in our Resource Directory
-
Put in your zip code and your child's age range.
-
Then choose Parent & Caregiver Support.
Blogs are also a good way to get tips and advice from other parents.
